Profile of Victims and Perpetrators of Attacks on the US Capitol

 , - The attack on the US Capitol has happened again.  This time someone rammed their car into the police barricade on guard on Friday, April 2.  One officer was killed and another injured.

 The officer who died was named William "Billy" Evans.  He is a veteran of the United States Capitol Police for 18 years.

 "It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of Officer William 'Billy' Evans this afternoon from the injuries he sustained following the attack on the North Barricade by an assailant," acting US Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman was quoted as saying by CNN, Saturday, April 3, 2021.

 According to Pittman, Evans became a member of the United States Capitol Police (USCP) on March 7, 2003 and was assigned to the First Responder Unit.  "Please keep Officer Evans and his family in your thoughts and prayers," he said.

 Meanwhile, the perpetrator of the attack was named Noah Green, a 25 year old man.  After crashing his car into the police, he got out, brandishing a knife.  The police then shot him to death.

 United States President Joe Biden responded to this incident by ordering the flag raising at half-mast at the White House.

 

 "We send our heartfelt condolences to Officer Evans' family, and everyone mourns his loss. We know how difficult it is at this time for the US Capitol, everyone who works there, and those who protect him," said Joe Biden.
